Romantic Fillums.01

Beautiful Thing is a heart warming, inspiring and sickening, unrealistic fable of two boys falling in love on their South East London council estate.

Ste, a normally attractive, secretly sensitive, geezer type, lives with his creepy peado looking father and his skinny, acts as sexy as hell but isn't really, drug dealing brother, and Jaimie, an adorably undistinguishable, strawberry blonde kid who lives with his mother and occasionally with her hippy, somewhat trustafarian boyfriend, discover a shared penchant for man on man sexy times during a rather nice hot Summer.

Oh and did I mention it's mostly set to the soundtrack of Mama Cass and The Mama's and Papa's? It doesn't really get much better than that!

Oh wait, yes it does...best supporting actress award goes to Tameka Thompson as the fluorescent and incandescent Leah Russel! She struts around the film exuding a characteristic coolness, dropping one liners in her wake.

...and it's based on a play...

Lana Del Rey...

This wondrous creature was introduced to me by the polychromatic Stuart Matthews.  Her name is Lana Del Rey and her voice will occupy you for longer than you deem appropriate.

I've tried to describe her to people, to elucidate the sound she has so tentatively created and it is by no means an easy feat...to me she sounds like an Andy Warhol painting or if Andy Warhol had a soundtrack to his painting she would be heavily within it.

She's old Hollywood pop with a jazz singer's broken heart. Her voice is a haunting melody that drags you willingly through the journey of each of her songs...I have only heard three, though there are reports of 18 tracks flying back and forth between her people and other people's people via the www.!

"Video Games" was the beginning of our love affair and I dare say it is an affair that shall go on for quite some time.

She is Françoise Hardy, Mary Woronov and Nancy Sinatra all rolled into one stunning sonofa bitch!

Go visit her on Facebook...

There's another track HERE...I know it's a blast from the past but she's worth it!
